The mission of the Irish Heritage Trail – Bytown, Ottawa, and the Valley is to document, interpret, and share Irish and Irish-Canadian history through the people, places, and moments that shaped the region.
The Trail brings history into public space through stories, research, and visible markers, while working with descendants and communities to ensure this heritage is recorded with accuracy, respect, and care.
The Trail looks to establish a local framework and ideally link to a future Pan-Canadian Irish Heritage Trail, connecting local histories into a shared national narrative.
